HELLO
Thank you for your time and consideration.
As you look through this website, I hope to give you a well-rounded picture of my professional background and abilities.
I have managed, marketed, and recruited for both international graduate degree programs and professional non-degree programs. I currently manage an environmental research center, the Center for the Blue Economy.
Helping organizations to positively impact the world, and helping others to connect with their best potentials gives me great joy, both professionally and personally.
I look forward to discussing my fit and qualifications with you in greater detail.
“Rarely have I met someone who is at once such an efficient and effective administrator and so warm, engaging, authentic and caring a person.”
Julie Johnson, Faculty, Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation, and Language Education at MIIS
At Pacific Lutheran University, I was the first to fill a newly created position, Director of Graduate Programs. I brought the administration, marketing, and recruitment of twenty graduate programs across five academic fields under one office. This involved liaising with program chairs, market research, developing new recruitment methods and metrics, hiring and managing new team members. I was able to increase enrollment by 20%, with net revenue at 51%.
At the Monterey (now Middlebury) Institute of International Studies, I was the first to develop and manage non-degree training programs for professional translators and interpreters. Ten to fourteen programs were held annually, both onsite and online, at domestic and international locations. I was responsible for market research, break-even and sustainability analysis, budget management, faculty recruitment, MOU development, travel, visas, and homestay arrangements. Non-degree programs were self-sustaining and generated 56% net revenue for the Monterey Institute.
I currently work for the Center for the Blue Economy (CBE) at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. The CBE innovated the use of economics as a tool to measure, monitor, and protect the oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes, and help decision makers address and respond to the realities of climate change. My work for the CBE involves designing & managing a website to clearly tell a complex story, with highly visible paths to action. I also manage grants and finances, events and lectures, fellowship and international scholar programs.
